Scholarships

The Duvdevan Foundation’s Scholarship Fund provides unit veterans—both combat soldiers and support personnel—with an academic scholarship of 10,000 ILS per academic year. This initiative stems from our strong belief in the irreplaceable value of higher education and our commitment to supporting our alumni.

We place great importance on social and community engagement and encourage integrating this involvement during academic studies. Therefore, scholarship recipients are required to volunteer throughout the year, participating in foundation activities and contributing to the community through social initiatives aimed at advancing Israeli society.

The scholarship program launched in 2012, and since then, the foundation has awarded over 1,000 full scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students. The selection process emphasizes financial need and outstanding service in the unit. Scholarships are awarded twice a year, for the fall and spring semesters.

Scholarship recipients must attend several events throughout the year, write a thank-you letter to the donors in English, and complete 120 hours of volunteer work annually, or 4 hours per week.

Application Process:  

To apply for a scholarship, you must be a registered member of the foundation. The registration period opens annually in May or June and closes about a month later. Exact dates are announced each year on the foundation’s social media platforms (Facebook group and Instagram page) and via the newsletter. During this time, you must register through a dedicated application page. After registration, you will receive a form via WhatsApp, which must be completed as part of the application process. Suitable candidates will be invited for an interview, and final decisions are typically communicated around September.
